On 6th October 1989 Erich Honecker, President of the Council of State of the German Democratic Republic, had explained: “Persons declared dead live longer.” Here he had thought of his own well-being, but the unintended irony in his words had first come to light, when in the following year the so-called GDR had perished as a political entity and a subject of international law despite the jubilation, ordered by the authorities, on the occasion of its forty years of existence. It was different with the Paris fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa from Tunisia. For six years it had been quiet around him; then, on 5th July 2017, he finally presented a new couture collection. It was a resurrection!
